Jeep Wrangler tub bottom sprayed with SPI bedliner

Thanks Bob, I have an Oreillys close and I do business with Summit Racing as well. Does it take a special applicator gun and do you know if its available in black. Next time I do black SPI bedliner I want to try it over black seam sealer. Gray might work if I cant find black..but aint going to go with beige again!

3M doesn't have black that I know of. If you have a need for a lot of it just go to your local paint and body supply store and give them the 3M part number, I think it comes in cases of 6-ask for a price break for a case order. On a complete rotisserie job I can easily go through 10-12 tubes. The sausage shaped packs do take a special gun but there's a few different brands of that as well.

Wow thats some serious seam sealing. Somewhere I read about the "chubs", 3M guns, and knock off guns for a lot less. Im assuming since you use that much of it, you dont have a problem covering it with bedliner or epoxy. I did actually seem some 3M Urethane Marine seam sealer adhesive in regular caulking gun tubes that is black. Wonder how that would be compared to the stuff you use.

3M does sell a 1K urethane seam sealer in a regular caulking tube- http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/313aDtxvdiL._SY355_.jpg And if does work OK but not quite as durable as the original ultrapro. It does however brush better if you're needing to duplicate factory seams for a correct restoration. 100_5904.jpg

No factory restoration here, just good ol 56 F-100 given a new life. I will check that in the tube out, but will probably stick with your first recommendation and use the chubs. Thanks Bob. Thats a good looking firewall you got goin on there.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here, but I have had good success with the Wurth brand Brushable Sean Sealer. I have used other with limited success along with old hard products. It is Brushable so there is labor involved and if you want perfection then you have to tape. I just brush everything, smooth it out and then cover with undercoating, which is how I got to this thread. I am ready for undercoating/liner and remembered SPI sold some products.
