Any users with this gun with some reviews in how it performs with pbase in general and atomization, ,i have a,SATA 4000 hvlp i use for base been thinkibg about getting the ls400 green caps after trying my WS-400 for clear great gun,,i want something i little better for spraying base ,i use solvent PPG base DBC DBU

I have the new evo gun for base.. Its the one with the green cap.. I really like it for base coat.

Do you ever use another gun,,,i really want to get this gun,, just not sure if is a big difference between the sata 4000 hvlp and the ls400 entech hvlp

Chad,

What nozzle size is your Entech?

I tried one in 1.3 and really liked it, but sadly I only had it for one day and the only thing to shoot was a couple of bumpers, so not enough spray time with it.

I'm also curious as how are you getting along with your WS400 EVO?

I got a lot of info from a guy who use to work for iwata and he say the new LS400 entech is the best base gun,,i spray PPG dbu dbc he told me 1.3 nozzle will be perfect...i have the ws400 evo with 1.3 nozzle i spray SPI clears and PPG works perfect i love it

Danny, just curious to the settings on your WS-400. My clear seems to be dying out a bit after a bake cycle. Im starting to wonder if its application related. I'm 3-4 turns out on fluid,4 1/2 out on fan and roughly 27 psi when trigger is pulled.

As for your original question. I tried the ws-400 1.3OBS today, using Sikkens MM waterborne. Laid it nice and smooth, didn't have any silvers to shoot so I'm not fully sold on it just yet. Just some food for thought vs the ls-400. I usually shoot my base with ProLites.

What clear yiu spraying SPI the may have domething to do with the time yiu bsking the clear i paint in my garage for the last 3-4 years..my setting are really similar to yours 3-1/2 turns and always test my fan patter before spraying so is nice and even the only difference i do notice with the ws400 is you have to go about %60 + over lop i get no die back.

If you spray SPI i will give Barry a call or txt him to his cell he answers with in 5-10 min i remember reading something about critical times when baking i may be wrong.

You mean LS-400 ENTECH or you spray BC and CC with same gun.

Ya I've been in talks with Barry, just figured I'd check and see what others with the same gun are running. & No there is a ws-400 made for base as well. At least in Canada anyways.

Oh ok i have no issues with spi clears or PPG clears only thi g doing different is the over lap.. ws400 can be use for base i have the 1.3HD with sikver cap for clear..

I like them both. I haven't had my hands on the new Sata's to compare though.. I will at some point I'm sure.

1.3 for base, i have 1.3 and 1.4 set for clear, I seem to always like the 1.4 for clear.. Probably using more materials because of the bigger tip though.. I just like the way it sprays better with the 1.4

I'm the same way with Iwatas, my WS400 is 1.4 as well. If I decide to get an Entech for base it will be 1.3 though. I can't believe Iwatas are more expensive than SATA here in Canada, so I'll have to buy one from the interwebs it seems.

That is odd that it's more expensive than Sata.. I know a lot of people have a pick-up location in the USA.. do you not have one?

I have a PO box on WA when I need to order stuff from the states.

The weaker Canadian currency cancels out most of the good deals I could get online from the States though.

Anything SATA I can get a jobber discount for but not the same for Iwata.

You know,'Figure out what Gun works Best for ya and stick with It,K?

I knew you could.
1 of the best ever clear jobs came out of a HF Purple HVLP gun.Because,I 'knew' the Gun and what It wanted to perform 'what' I 'wanted'.
