Interior job

I have some interior panels that are original paint and in fantastic condition that I want to paint to match the new exterior color. The panel is not an easy place to sand (lots of tight corners, etc). Is there any reason why I can't go at it with a red scuff pad it by hand to break down the gloss, then shoot it with 1:1:1 epoxy sealer, and then go right to base and clear?

Or even a gray pad will work fine.

Make sure you clean them very good as people are known to use armor all on interiors.
