Infrared Heaters

Well the cooler weather is here for sure! I need to do a little bit of painting and came across some infrared heaters. They seem to be dual 1500 watt units for the most part. So... if I heat the panel I want to paint, either from the front or the back, would these type of heaters work for say painting a detached fender? I talked to a PPG rep and he said he would be concerned about the paint travelling from the gun in the cold air to the heated panel.

I prefer to warm the whole booth to 70 degrees or higher.
This electric heater works good for that:

You will need an infrared thermometer to make sure the metal temps are at 70 degrees. Air temp and metal temp will rise at different rates.

I bought this dude 4 years ago before I installed a propane furnace.
It would kick the shop, 36x36 up to 70 degrees in about 30 minutes.

I've got an ceiling mount electric heater. It works great. Will heat my space to 80+ degrees on a 25 degree night. Costs about $3-$5 a day to operate. If I'm just knocking the chill off on a cold day it's less than that.
