Inflatable booth mini review

Having fun learning!
We are starting to paint the Dart, and I wanted something that would help keep debris from the paint. My first go around with plastic, 2x3 studs, a box fan, and a furnace filter was... sub-optimal. I had already seen inflatable booths, so it was in the back of my mind. I sprang for one, and on Saturday we set it up. My review is this. You need lights in the booth, and it is meant for outdoor use as it does NOT contain all of the fumes or paint. There is an add-on that they sell to cover a filter so you can use a cylinder fan to add some negative pressure to the filter, and then direct that exhaust outside the building. When we did that, overspray and fumes in the garage were not a problem. If you use the booth inside, don’t expect it to contain all the fumes and paint. Just for giggles, here is my son and I inflating the booth for the first time.

In one of my conversations with Barry he talked me out of doing anything special for the paint area if I did not have a real paint booth. He does not like plastic since it attracts dirt than it keeps out with the static electricity. His comment most of the crap in the paint comes from dirt left in the cracks of the car and the first shot of the gun blows it everywhere or from the painter, wear a suit and cover your hair. I believe he gave me an example where he painted a car in his garage will walking through the blasting media on the floor one day and drove it to a show the next and won an award.

He told me about a shop that had serious fisheye problems but only after noon. Turns out the owner would buy fried chicken and the painter used his clothes as a napkin.
