I want to create the "Best Sanding Blocks Ever"

Had a chance to use them for a few min tonight. I must say they are extremly comfortable! Also I dig the weight of them. Feel like I just need to move the block back and forth and put almost no pressure down.

Finally got a chance to use the block yesterday on a 47 Chevy truck hood. After using my home made polycarbonate blocks with duct tape, this block is sooo much more comfortable and controllable. Had the perfect amount of flex with one rod and the adjustability of flex with the rods is awesome. Fingers don't cramp up and the weight of the block makes it so that little to no pressure is needed. Excellent block, Dean...very well designed and made!

That's what I like hearing. Very gratifying.
That car has serious curves to deal with. Hopefully the variable flex of the blocks helps with that.

I use the exact same brush you have in the picture and use it to frequently clean the paper. Learned that from My Friend Pete.

Awesome! Need pics of that 47. One of my favorites of all time. 53 GMC was my first car.

Full 8 hour day of using them. Comfort I have to give them a 10/10, Quality 10/10, now to the only that I will consider to be a blessing and a curse is the weight. My shoulders are feeling it today! The weight of the blocks is a tremendous help on horizontal surfaces, but I did get fatigued on the vertical and even holding the smaller block upside down. Not to the point where my out of shape ass had to go take a nap, just where I had to stop and reposition myself a few times.

Overall, these blocks will get used! Great product, nicely done!

Using the Black Diamond long block looking for lows in my square body truck hood. It worked extremely well using almost no pressure and letting the weight of the block do most of the work. This is with day old epoxy and 320 paper.
Thanks for the great product Dean!

Results and comments like this are soooo gratifying! Exactly what I was hoping for when I started this project. Thanks for taking the time to post.

I'm on pins and needles . . . how did they work for you?
I gotta say I want my money back.

Lol jk. I wasn’t able to spray the parts until later in the day and didn’t get an opportunity to start blocking. And now we’re gone visiting the in-laws for a week so I won’t get to try again until Sunday. The fenders won’t be good test pieces because they are a lot of contours that will require my round blocks. And the bumper is flat steel with no contour whatsoever.

Not that the blocks need testing. But it’s like buying a Corvette and then only getting to drive it through a residential neighborhood.

Makes me smile just seeing it in the garage. Driving it is a bonus

Can you remind me when the 24" blocks are to be made available? Ready to resume work on my car trailer. Thanks!

Starting with 320 do you re prime over 320 on the burn through or go through a different procedure ? Sounds easier starting at 320.

I had two small spots (quarter size) that went to metal after the 320 round, I had a few ounces of epoxy still sealed up in the cup from the day before so I coated them using a painters pad. In hindsight I probably should have roughed it up with 80-180. If they show up again on the last round of epoxy tomorrow I'll do that.
For the record I'm a total newb at this so don't follow me for the perfect paint job, or good advice. ;)
My thought was to just use the 320 to see where I was at so I could do some correction and filler work and still maintain some material build, then re epoxy it the next day. I never planned to break thru.
