I ran into a problem when spraying the euro 5100. problem was I was a fucking idiot and didnt allow enough flash time. Live and learn. I have trapped solvents that I hope will come out. I wet sanded the parts with 600 and I have them sitting in the sun. I hope they come out.

Anyways I spoke with Barry this morning, 2 or 3 times actually and you can truly tell this guy LOVES what he does. He goes above and beyond to school you on his products and just painting in general. I can truly appreciate that. I'm so tired of calling tech lines for anything and the guy on the other end sounds like you are bothering him.

Thanks again Barry,

Ryan

I second the huge thanks to Barry.

There are companies selling great products. There are people sharing their passion. It's rare to have both in one place. Even rarer to have access to them on the internet.

Barry's attitude rubs off -- this forum attracts knowledgeable people who are willing to share their hard-earned expertise and I really appreciate their help.

Ryan,
That is going to be one fine golf cart, really looking good.

Clear laid nice but it looks like it could use another 2-5 lbs of air at the gun when you shoot it, should make it even slicker and also kick the flash solvents out a little faster and may have prevented that minor pop.

NICE!

Barry is always a major help and never gives attitude, he's always very friendly and has helped me thousands of times!

I shot it at 40psi. I'll try a 2-5 more. Ill play around with it. When I get home tonight see if the solvents moved at all. If not I'll shoot some base and repair.

Make sure air at wall is as high as you can get it, at least 125 to break up paint right.
Measure air at gun with trigger pulled.

Remember if air at wall is say 80 now and you up it to 150, the gun settings will change like you never adjusted the gun.

My regulator on the wall is set maxed out to what the compressor is putting out. I think it hits about 160.

If your wall regulator is maxed out and you have a diaphram regulator at the gun your air setting will stay the same, if you're using a cheater valve at the gun your air setting will change as the air is being used up and the main line pressure decreases. If your compressor will stay up with your gun and say maintain 100psi at the wall then you could set the wall regulator at 100 with a cheater valve at the gun and your adjustment will stay the same-hope that makes sense. Use a quality diaphram regulator that will flow enough air at the gun and you can keep the wall regulator wide open-RTI makes some nice diaphram regulators.

Great info. I run a Devilbiss DAD500 filter system and I have the regulator on the end maxed out. I run High flow fittings and just the supplied Devilbiss valve on my guns. Yes I have to pay attention to the pressure when spraying. It has improved since I went to 3/4" copper lines on the walls and 1/2" hose with high flow fittings, but it does still drop. I will look into RTI regulators.

Thanks.
