Huge Thank You from a First Time Painter

First time painter, and body work for that matter, here. I want to thank all of the regular contributors to the forum for a new paint success that exceeded all of my expectations. Actually, it is your success! After all, I just followed your instructions and advice. You can't imagine how much your posts and discussions helped me.

I can't tell you how many compliments I have received on the paint quality. Some from folks who restore and paint regularly. I chalk it up to the ole "even a blind squirrel" quote. I was hoping for a 10-foot paint job, but it turned out much nicer than that. I did so well on this one, I decided to try another hoping for the same results.

Dropping a few user names that I can recall that post on a regular basis in no particular order. I'm sure I'm missing some so please forgive me.

And of course, Barry for the fantastic write up for the perfect paint job and his wonderful products.

Thanks again to all!

As requested,

I started with this, sandblasted frame and chassis black paint. I purchased what was known as a Bronco in a box that included all of the sheet metal for the tub, the original was rusted beyond repair.

Screwed it together piece by piece and once satisfied with the fit, removed screw welded until I got it all together again.

Stripped to bare metal followed by first coat of epoxy, seam sealer and second coat of epoxy.

After that a lot of sanding, priming, sanding, priming, you get the picture.

Once I was satisfied with the body I color matched Raptor Liner and sprayed the underneath, passenger, and engine compartment.

I installed a 5.0 engine and 4r70W transmission from a 2000 Ford Explorer along with associated wiring and emissions.

Installed new seats and rubber floor mats, Dynamat in the doors and roof of the hardtop, and tinted glass.

I also installed power steering, power brakes and looking at AC now.
