How to prep rubber moldings for base?

I just sprayed my 89 notch mustang with Barry's black base and universal. Came out great! I need to spray my rubber side moldings now. I used spi 2k sealer black on the car prior to basecoat. Will that be fine for the moldings or should I use reduced epoxy prior to basing.
