From Canada to everywhere in the country, since last week from problems to what to do, seems to be the theme.

Starting with base coat, yes it will seem like it is drying faster but the outside skims over and it causes the solvents to come out slower.
EXTEND flash times at 106 yesterday I was giving each coat of base an hour.
Four hours later I shot first coat of clear.
I waited 30 minutes exactly between all four coats of clear but I was getting nervous, that I was not waiting long enough but it worked out.

Do not rush or paint like it is 70 or you will get solvent pop, die back or worse, as one call today, first day in sun his base bubbled and let loose.
He said it was drying great and was giving it 5-10 minutes between coats at 101 degrees and using DT870 (medium) Not good.

Ouch medium at 101.

Screw 100+...i get up at 3-4 am to do allovers. First day, base. 2nd day clear.

i've never understood why someone would get in a hurry shooting paint. regardless of temp i wait 45 min between coats of clear. base gets at least 30 min and overnight before clearing.
humidity is lowest in the mornings so i try to start just before dawn. best is to not shoot paint in summer. i try for fall and winter.

Base is not a problem regardless of brand, but extra long flash times in the heat can be a problem for clears with recoat sensitivity issues. I've never seen SPI clears show signs of recoat sensitivity (wrinkling), but if someone wants to use extended flash times with a non-SPI clear, they need to contact the mfr. of that product.

If you guys would become mobile painters you could use the Sun to your advantage.
