How much Universal Clear for a 67 Tempest (4 Coats)

I'm definitely better at bodywork than painting so just wanted to see where the more experienced painters are at. I would say i def spray on the heavy side as well. Hood, deck lid, fenders, doors, nose piece and cowl are sprayed and i used just shy of 3 gals mixed, 4 coats on exterior and 3 on jams. At this rate I'm figuring I'll probably need another 3 easy to finish the body and interior which seems crazy to me. TIA

Generally I use 8 oz per panel, per coat as a guide for paint estimating.
So just the exterior of the panels (2 fender, 2 doors, 2 quarter panels, hood, roof, trunk lid) gives you 9 panels. 9 x 8 = 72 oz. per coat.
4 x 72 = 288 oz. Figure UV mixes 1:1 so a gallon mixed will give 256 oz. of Ready to Spray clear.
My guess is you will need 5 qts of UV and Activator.

68,
Do you use the same 8oz per panel rule when spraying reduced epoxy? Let's say reduced 25%.

Question for anyone. He says he's a heavy sprayer. If so, does he really need 4 coats? 2 heavy may equal 4 normal coats.

I have also questioned that myself. Probably need to invest in a mil gauge to get an idea of how much clear I have. May only need 3 coats, plan for this car is 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000, 5000 and then buff/polish. I just wanted to make damn sure I have enough clear when I'm done

That's better than my guess system.

What are your gun settings just out of curiosity? I've been really looking at maybe purchasing a LPH400
I back the fluid knob all the way out, then pull the trigger full open and hold it while turning the knob back in. Once I feel it start to lift the trigger, I release the trigger and then turn it another 1/2 turn in. Guess that is around 3.5 turns out from fully closed.

For Epoxy Primer and Base Coat, I set the PSI at the gun with the trigger full open to 22-23.
For clear coat, sealer and single stage, I set the PSI at the gun to 26-27.
