Hoping for a little advice

First I would like to start by saying thank you to all the members & Barry for taking your time to answer questions and pass on your hard earned knowledge to those of us looking for advice on a project or hoping to learn a new skill...Thank you

I am attempting my first full paint job and have a couple of questions before I get ahead of myself. I've done small parts, frames and a box truck previously but I'm not a painter. The project is a 2000 LX470 which probably should have just gone to auction as is but I thought it would be a good truck to learn on. This is my first time using SPI and couldn't be more impressed with the people who helped me with my purchase and the information on this forum.

I am going to be spraying 2k on the rear quarter that had a large dent then black epoxy reduced as a sealer and then single stage black, I also bought enough epoxy to do the frame after I sand blast it. I though I would sand 180 and spray the 2k primer then 180 & 320 the rest of the truck and seal it then spray the single stage. There are a few spots where the paint has chipped and you can see some small amount of rust, should I fill those small areas or sand down with 80 grit and spot spray epoxy...if that's even something that can be done? If so is it ok to blend epoxy into the paint and then seal. Also I am using a 3m accuspray gun unless that is a bad idea.

Thank You
Anthony

Sounds like you have a good plan. The chips that have rust need to be clean of rust by using 80 on the bare metal, feather out paint with 180, then full strength epoxy over those areas, blending into the paint. If the paint on the rest of the truck is in good shape there is really no need for 180 before the 320.
