HOK Shimrin2 and SPI Universal Clear any Compatibility Issues???

I am painting my wife's traverse after repairing the front end from a collision and she wants me to custom paint it.

My plan is to use Shimrin 2 for the base colors and am wondering about the compatibility with SPI's Universal Clear and also the SPI Intercoat clear being it may take a few weeks to do the custom airbrushing. I have used the HOK clear before and wasn't too happy with the results - I have just started using SPI's products and am very happy with the quality of the products and would like to continue doing so.

Anyone used the combination together ? any issues?

This combo has been used for years, no issues at all.

You might consider taking the code of HOC to a ppg or basf jobber that has the formulas and can mix.
With both companys, it would be an upgrade in quality and cheaper.
Just an idea.

i have used that combo for 20 years now. no issues and they work great together. i would also have to agree to what barry said. hok isnt what it used to be. quality of the base itself is fine but it has gotten piss thin over the years and coverage is absolutely terrible. all started when they got bought out by valspar and its gone downhill ever since. a basf jobber can mix all those colors in their carizzma line. it might cost a little more per qt but it has double the coverage or better.
