Hay hauler

Considering what I started with, this hay hauler came out pretty good. All SPI epoxy, Turbo, base, Euro clear. Sanded with 1500, 3000, then 8000, then buffed

Yes Sir! Nice Job. That's a whole lot of truck there. And cutting and buffing it too? Whew. Did you do the roof separate or shoot it all at once? Roughly how much product did you use? (bc and cc)

I shot the roof, dually fenders, and the bed all separate. Like you said, it's one big truck. Replaced the bed with a "better" one, and also replaced one fender and the hood. I didn't get any before pictures, but it had 320,000 not so easy miles on it :) It really came out nice and slick, but it had a little trash, so I spent one full day buffing that probably wasn't necessary considering it's still going to be a hay hauler! I used one full gallon of black epoxy, one gallon of black turbo, one gallon of SPI black base (2 coats), and about 7 quarts of Euro (3 coats 4:1:1). I used Universal on the roof, because that is what I had when I sprayed the roof first.

How many hours do you have airbrushing the image of a guy in a paintsuit into the back?
So is the 3000/8000 grit the new 3m trizact? I got some I haven't tried out yet.
Looks good.
The 3000/8000 is the new Trizact. It sure reduces the buffing time as long as there are only 1500 or finer scratches. If I was going to airbrush someone, it would be a different gender and much younger:)

I'll say! Please tell me that's not going back as a "Hay Hauler"? That's just awesome!
I have a problem. I just can't stop on good enough. The owner will go right back to using this truck for work. I should have just da'd the truck and shot it with some cheap single stage, but that is not the kind of work I can live with, even if he could have. I still use these jobs as a tool to try new processes and techniques, and try to learn something on every job to use on the next project. I guess if I didn't, I would still be using lacquer primer, spot putty, acrylic enamel, etc.,etc.,etc. :)
