Don't drink the Kool-Aid. They want to sell products. SPI clear will go over any base. The base can't read the label on the clear can, and no matter what the manufacturers say, their clear is not made any differently to use specifically over their base.
I'm buying Wanda base coat this week and need to order my other stuff from SPI this week. Can the Wanda base be activated and what reducer should I get? Temperatures will probably be in the low 70's when I paint.
Like TK said and I did in the post I linked, any basecoat designed for a urethane or polyurethane clearcoat will accept any polyurethane or urethane clear coat. Properly applied basecoat doesn't care what's applied over it. Manufacturer do that to sell more product, not because it's necessary.
yep, have a wanda machine in my shop. been using spi primers and clears with it for prob 6 years now. you should also not use wanda reducer with their base. the wanda base is great but the reducer kinda sux. the spi reducer will make it spray night and day better.
