Great Electric Sander

Here's an electric sander by Bosch that's great for auto body work.
It has a switch that makes it either random orbit for finish work
or "rotary only" which makes it real aggressive and great for stripping.
It's 6" and has a 6.5 amp motor. I use it for my wood working but it also works
great for body work.
A great sander for people that don't have enough compressor to run air sanders.

Agree JC, I bought this for my wood projects, Though I've not used it as a body sander, I do use it as an orbital buffer with my favotite pads and compunds and it works fine for final polishing.

Looks a little bit like my old Festool RO150, which has the random orbital & random rotary mode (not straight circular rotary only). Cost around $500 approx. 15 years ago.

Also use it a lot for buffing & the random orbital is great for when you need to do a more aggressive cleanup maintenance buff, but don't want full rotary. I've used it for quite a bit of bodywork before switching to all hand sanding.

I borrowed the same Bosch sander from a friend to strip a car I am working on. It absolutely kicks ass for stripping paint. The rotary mode is actually orbital rotary. That's what I used 95% of the time. I ran it hard for about 4 hours straight one day with no heat or any other issues. The vacuum attachment works quite well too.
