ran out of primer but smooth sanded p400. you can still see tiny spots? will the base cover that up or will it show?

You may have some scratches show if you're painting with a light metallic.
I'd recommend 600 grit if you are.
A solid color would be no problem.
If the shiny dots are real small (small enough I can't see them in the picture)
and just exist. paint that wasn't leveled all the way you should be alright to go..

I am not sure if that light line is showing bare metal so the shiny dots are also bare metal and that is the question. I usually say, if you have to ask, then no.

no metallic. solid color. it's there but I can't feel it....
I might have to stir up the thick primer in the can with some thinner and make a sealer out of it. not sure yet.

Looks fine to me as long as sanding doesnt show. I see the tiny remains of the peel but i doubt those will show.
Or spend 5 min more and go over it again.
Ive had issues even on solids in 400dry if my preper was pushing to hard sanding.

well, so it tested the spot with a spray can (black) if that matters...and seems pretty good but the sand marks did show (no clear coat). I DA'd today just in case I missed some spots. light primer will be on tomorrow on some filler spot that showed up....never stop does it? can't wait to finally spray!
