I am looking for suggestions on what product to use for parts that look like galvanized coating. such as GM door latches brake backing plates ect. I am trying to find some thing to use on a 69 vette. I epoxied some parts and then shot some cast aluminum. not what i was looking for. I then tried some 93% zinc and that looked like gray primer. So I have them in the stripper once again. I sure could use some guidance. Thanks.

Are you wanting the galvanized look exactly or a paint that is close? From what I've found, the only way to get that look right is to have them re-dipped. You could do the actual galvanizing type which leaves the pattern of the metals in the dip, or just a straight zinc dip, which could be black, silver, or gold and would be more uniform. I think both are a zinc bath but produce different finishes.

I dont think paint can produce the same finish as it's not liquid metal. The only one that come close to being the same is black epoxy to black zinc. It would be cool if there was something closer to it.
