Genverde base

You owe it to yourself to research good, first.
If this is what I think, it is id give a strong opinion, but im not sure, so you research it.
With 1000 to 1400 texts and calls a month
Hard to remember all the names

It’s been in the Canadian market since 2015 so they say and I have found nothing on the web about it for reviews. My local paint and auto body store sells it. Very hard to buy a product without people’s reviews on it, at least it is for me.

I couldn't find anything. You guys found more than I found. A jobber near me started carrying it because the ProSpray and Matrix they carry is getting expensive since SW took over. What a shock. The only information I got from them is it is a high quality polyester base, much like ProSpray, and they said it was the old ICI. I've been around a while and not easily convinced. This jobber also has a history of changing brands regularly, I'm sure because of profit margin. They cater more to the low end body shops looking for the cheapest material they can buy. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with this base. It seems like my local choices are either DBC or garbage, with little in between.

Texas anyone around you that handles Wanda ? Also a member here just set up a Mipa paint system. Same here not a lot of info on Gen Verde

Bartman is the member. He's a Pro. He was really positive about MIPA. It's German made so that's a definite plus.

Here's the thread:

The 3 jobbers in my town are 2 PPG, and the 1 that handles Prospray, Matrix, and now this GenVerde. I would put in a Mipa system, but never got a response from them and gave up. I have a SW Ultra 7000 mix bank, but I haven't bought a toner for it this year. It is just not a good product, and just as high priced as much better bases.

I put thousands of dollars of toners into my solvent recycler, that's how done I was with it. But, I have to say, durability and adhesion were not the problems I had, since I always used RHF reducer and extra hardener. Given its enamel heritage, I thought this a wise precaution. My problems were with metallic control, coverage, and dieback. The coverage, oh, boy, was it terrible sometimes! Those were the bad old days.

I would think being in the Houston area you could get just about any base system you wanted TK. LKQ-Keystone has Wanda. I'm sure you get stuff from them being you do collision. Even though they are a big company I've always found the service to be pretty good with Keystone. At least here in VA. One I order from is 2 hours away in Greensboro NC and they deliver in my area every day. I'd be willing to bet you could get a deal on them setting up a mixing bank in your Shop.

@crashtech I've had 5-6 completes peel (clear) that I have redone in the last 19 years.. Most were 5 years old or older. Called out the rep on the first few, never found less than 2 mils of their 639 clear, but never gave me an answer as to why. That stuff never flashed was the problem. 15-20 minutes after base before clear was not near enough time. That I figured out on my own. Never really had metallic control problems, but it liked to be sprayed wet, which probably bit me on the peeling end. Just lost confidence in it.

I'll check into that, Chris. The service I get from them is up and down. I normally buy aftermarket and used parts elsewhere, with better prices and service. LKQ's used parts are normally as high or higher than new OEM, but are usually pretty nice. I just bought 2 new OEM doors for a 2018 Honda $175 cheaper than the LKQ doors on an estimate. All I needed was the shells. Insurance companies:rolleyes: I'm 40 miles from LKQ, and they act like I'm in another state, but I don't buy thousands of dollars a month from them, either.
