Full inventory

We are getting many calls from shops that have never bought from us because companies are running out of different items and can't make that item due to supply shortages.
Shortages are polyol, isos for primers, and some isos for clear, black tints, some blue tints, epoxy resins(some), and the amines.

Spi has had a complete inventory for around six months and chemicals to make more if I buy nothing else to last the rest of year, I have in last year in a half bout all I could for inventory, and it is paying off.

One day last week, we had run on black and gray epoxy, and where we usually will make a batch when down to 100 gallons or so, we had to make the two products faster but only held up a few orders for one day.

PLEASE, no politics here. This is for your info as a lot of shops are calling and asking if they should stock up and my answer is no.

An update.
The horror stories im hearing on the tech line of significant shortages for all the companies is awful, primers, epoxy, clears, and tints.

Then yesterday, the worst news was one company cannot ship almost 40 tints for mixing banks to the jobbers as pigments are hard to come by.

We're getting new shops every day because of the above, and I want to assure you we are watching our raw chemicals and if I see a problem down the road for us, we will stop taking new customers so we can service our existing customers.
I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime; what a fing mess.

i was told the other day there is a catalyst and binder shortage for the utech ss i use. apparently there was a factory somewhere here in the US that caught fire and burnt down. they made the raw materials for alot of the paint companies. anyone else hear that? i just ordered the last couple gallons of U500 that keystone could make me. now they are out completely.

One fire at a plant about a year ago hurt the alkaly resin buyers.
Another one a month or so also had explosion that made both types.
Both caused by peroxide.

utech ss i use.
That was actually the very first paint I ever sprayed. A Black SS on my aftermarket front grill surround for my 97 Ram p/u that is Still on it Today and looks Better than the rest of the truck. Lol.. Which BTW has spent It's Life outside. Best garage it ever had is a shade tree.

Several years ago, the major hvac air filter manufacturer lost a factory to fire and we had to raid anyplace left that sold filters for customers. Local wholesalers had none and no idea when or where to get any.
Some other small filter companies tried to pick up but their products were terrible. We were literally getting the old spun fiberglass, the ones like in the 70's,for replacements by the end of Summer. Lasted over a year.

Thanks for All you do Barry. Most of Us know,
It ain't easy.
