Actually the one set the plastic was not sanding good, it was de-laminating i said clear it and should not see it, so lucked out.

I've actually had a tough time selling this as a service sometimes, because people think they can do it themselves, or have some yahoo buff them out in the parking lot at work,. What the heck, I invite them to go ahead and do it, and come back when they get tired of the constant maintenance. When we do sell the job to a customer, it's usually when the light/s are removed for something else, and the selling point is zero maintenance and lifetime warranty against fading.

yeah barry there is an anti scratch coating over the plastic but just on headlights. the stuff is hard as nails and a real pia to get off. unfortunately if you dont get it all off many times is fails under your clear then your clear starts peeling. ive had some headlights where it sanded right off and others i have had to start with 150 grit to get it all off.

Yeah, the remains of the coating has to come off. Sometimes we start sanding them with 400 DA, never have tried 150...

some i can get away with that but i have had others that take 220 and finer and wipe out a disc in seconds. like sanding concrete.

I was wondering do you need to use adpro on the lights or just wipe and clear?
Justin

I have done many headlights since Barry told me how to repair them. each time i am amazed at how they turn out. I did the set on my beater car, that i drive everyday, three years or so ago and they still look great. and i never wash that poor car...
