Too Many Projects

I never did get back to posting the outcome of my first epoxy paint adventure. The SPI went on VERY nicely and looked better than it had a right to for my experience level.

Paint, on the other hand, was difficult to apply evenly. Much of that was due to the fact that I didn't tighten the tip after cleaning the gun from the primer. I couldn't get the GM code I wanted in a single stage, so I bought a dark grey metallic from Eastwood. Probably won't do that again, as it was much thinner and harder to control sags than the SPI. Much of that turned out to be the tip coming loose in the cap and I would get either a LOT of paint or very little coming out each time I pulled the trigger. After messing with the settings, to no avail, I adjusted my sweep speed to whatever came out on a trigger pull. It's coated and protected and it's just the underside, so I'm not concerned, but if it were the top side, I would have to strip it completely and start over.
