Flex vs retarder in clear

I know of a painter that uses flex agent on completes to make clear lay down even flatter since flex takes such a long time to dry.

It sounds logical. Has anyone else tried this? Barry, what do you recommend?

1st the flex will migrate out over time unless its the large molecule type and that seems rare to me.
2nd in my opinion all you are doing is thinning the clear or retarding.
Would be a lot cheaper and better for the clear long term by using a splash of slow reducer or better yet less retarder will do the same thing and better.

Like I say all the time all we care about is the net result, so what works best is the right answer.
