Evercoat Polyflex over epoxy.

I have some Mustang GT side skirts that I am modifying. I have them coated with 3 coats of SPI epoxy, but I need to do some final cosmetic work.

Will Evercoat Polyflex stick to the epoxy?

I used the 3M EZ Sand Urethane Repair stuff under the epoxy and it seems that the epoxy really stuck well to the urethane skirts and the repair material.

Or could I use the 3M EZ Sand stuff over the epoxy to do the final finishing and then epoxy them again?

Thanks for the help!

You will need to apply to raw metal, may stick to epoxy but never recommended.

I think Polyflex 411 is just flexible poly putty that is very similar to normal Evercoat 416 putty. It should stick fine to epoxy, but I don't want to contradict the boss.

MY MISTAKE, I though it was a two part repair material.
Crash is right, work fine over primer or epoxy.

The process you outlined worked for me a couple years ago to fill in the "MUSTANG GT" lettering on the lower urethane body kit.

Wow, this epoxy really is amazing. I stripped the multiple coats of crappy paint off the urethane body skirts with SEM urethane safe stripper, cleaned them well, sanded with 180 and put three coats of epoxy on them with no adpro. I am just stunned how well it is adhered to the bare urethane. These skirts are fairly flexible and they require a lot of bending and flexing to get onto the brackets and mounting holes in the body. I had ZERO issues with cracking, flaking or peeling. I even purposely bent some of the bottom unseen flaps beyond 90 degrees and it was like the epoxy had become one with the urethane.

Very impressed with the adhesion and the flex of the epoxy. Thanks for the excellent product Barry!

yup epoxy to sanded and properly cleaned urethane works excellent, do your cosmetic repair fills with polyester based materials on the epoxy, final prime with epoxy and you have a bulletproof foundation for your paint. Excellent flexibility and stone chip resistance!
