Euro 2020 clearcoat buffing

Hi I sprayed my Suburban last summer with the Euro 2020 clear, it looks great but I would like to smooth it off a little. I just saw that it says to buff within 10 days and that has me a little concerned. will I have any issues buffing it with 1500/3000/5000 grades now or in the spring? that's how we buff everything at work?? Thanks

It will still sand and buff, just harder. A little more time with each grit will be required, but it will buff as easy as most clears.
Hmmm, its been my understanding Euro 2020 can't be cut/buffed after a week. Judging by the experienced people who responded with a thumbs up to this post, I was mistaken. Thanks for the info.

Call me weird if you like but I personally prefer it to be cured before the Cut and Buff.
No chances of shrinkage or other issues that come from buffing too early.

i agree. while its true that the clear gets harder and as it does it gets harder to buff but i have found that sandpaper doesnt cut as deep into it either and there is much less pigtailing when the clear is fully cured. my personal opinion is that cured clear is actually a little easier to buff because of this. i sand to 8000 trizact anyway so any clear will buff easy when sanded to that level.

When I wrote the tech sheet, I was conservative.
Shortly after, a shop had shot his suburban all over.
He called said it's been setting in the parking lot for two too three months, and he was now going to buff.
I said good luck. A week later, he called and said it was a piece of cake to buff.
Live snd learn!
I stand corrected!

There are some clears that are very tough to buff after even a day or 2, but none of SPI's clears buff hard to me.

Euro buffs hard for me no matter what even the first few days. Maybe I'm just not pushing hard enough or using rpms. Universal is usually fine.

To be honest, I don't like buffing Universal as much as Euro. It sands and buffs easier, but it is so soft, you better be careful anywhere near an edge, and I get random straight line or pigtail scratches much more frequently than Euro. Universal buffs much better after a few weeks in the sun, Euro not so much. I buffed a black tailgate today that was painted Thursday with Euro (4 days old). Denibbed with 1500 then 3000 Sunmight foam. Buffed with 3D ACA 500 with wool pad, ACA 520 with black foam. Done in 30 minutes with not a single scratch or swirl. That 500 compound is awesome! Thanks, Jim C.
