Epoxy recoat advice

I'm sure everyone one on the forum already knows, but painting the trunk of a car without a rotisserie has got to be the biggest PITA in the automotive refinishing world. I've got body parts I didn't know that I had that hurt after swimming around in that trunk on my back for hours.

I managed to finally get the first coat of epoxy down last night, and trying to figure out how best to go about getting the second coat on. To get up under the rear deck, you really have no choice but to lay in the trunk to shoot the floor / wheel wells under there.

From reading the tech data, sounds like I could wait as long as 14 days between first and and second coats of epoxy. Am I better off letting it cure as long as possible before trying to put down the second coat given I will certainly have to crawl around on the first coat?

Also, any recommendations I what I might safely put down on the first coat such that my paint suit does minimal damage? I figure I can cover the pan, paint the stuff that requires laying on it, then pull that up and finish painting. Past experience has been that putting weight on fresh(ish) paint tends to imprint a pattern, etc if not outright ruin it.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!
Robbie

I've attached a picture but unfortunately its hard to really see given the black primer. The flat portion of the pan that is directly over the axle is the hardest part to reach without crawling in the trunk.

I would not wait 14 days. Open recoat window is within 7 days. If you wait longer you will need to hit it all with 180 then respray. More work. After 24 hours its shouldnt be soft. You could wait 48 to be safe.
