I'm considering having my '65 fastback dustless blasted. The stripped chassis will be on a rotisserie when blasted. The blasting manufacturer recommends that the car be primed immediately after the car dries from the dustless blasting. They put an additive in the water/media mix that supposedly will keep the metal from rusting for I think 48 hours or so. Once the vehicle is completely dry can I spray the epoxy primer inside and out to seal it? Has anyone done this?
Also, I will not be local to a compressor so I'm thinking of spraying with a HVLP Turbine that I bought years ago and never used. That way I can prime it in the same place that I'm going to do the dustless blasting Does anyone have experience with using a self contained HVLP turbine to spray the epoxy?
Thanks for any comments, this is uncharted territory for me!
Here's a video of the dustless blasting.
