Epoxy Primer right over dustless blasting?

I'm considering having my '65 fastback dustless blasted. The stripped chassis will be on a rotisserie when blasted. The blasting manufacturer recommends that the car be primed immediately after the car dries from the dustless blasting. They put an additive in the water/media mix that supposedly will keep the metal from rusting for I think 48 hours or so. Once the vehicle is completely dry can I spray the epoxy primer inside and out to seal it? Has anyone done this?

Also, I will not be local to a compressor so I'm thinking of spraying with a HVLP Turbine that I bought years ago and never used. That way I can prime it in the same place that I'm going to do the dustless blasting :) Does anyone have experience with using a self contained HVLP turbine to spray the epoxy?

Thanks for any comments, this is uncharted territory for me!

Here's a video of the dustless blasting.

i have to tell you that you will be more that 48 hours getting the caked on mud out of the car just so you can get the epoxy on. imo unless your having this done in a place where you have neighbors that will get pissed off from the dust of regular blasting then there is no reason for the dustless system. its a boat load of cleanup and makes a friggin mess. its not faster in any way and isnt any more warp free than using the regular crushed glass media dry instead of wet.

Ive never done dustless blasting, but I have done the "dustful" blasting that Jim refers to several times with a standard blaster and crushed glass. If you go that route, that is the recommended method.. IE, step 1 blast, step 2, blow out/vacuum media, step 3 get the epoxy on there.

Depending on what dustless will charge you, you can probably do it yourself and have the equipment to use again in the future. I have this one:

Which is the offshore version of this one:

Both the Allsource and ALC are made by the same company, and the parts from the ALC fit the Allsource. Its just that one is american made and the other has every single part made in china.

Media runs about 12$ for a 40lb sack.

I just use the media once. My friend puts tarps down and sweeps it all back up into barrels and sifts it through a sifter box and re-runs it to keep his cost down. You can make a sifter box by screwing 2x4's into a 18" or 2' square and attaching screen to it.
