Epoxy over turbo

What's the finest grit I can use on turbo primer if I'm gonna spray a regular coat of SPI epoxy over it. I'm going to epoxy, sit in sun a week, then topcoat.

If you are spraying a regular coat of epoxy over it, I would see no need to sand any finer than 320. I assume you will be sanding the epoxy again after the curing period before sealer.

Thx. I'm having a little problem with scratches showing thru. I wanted to sand turbo as fine as I can get away with for epoxy to have good adhesion. I've blocked to 400. Think this is to fine? This is my first all over with SPI, may be the quality of prior products that are causing some issues. I block in my paint room with good light but still have small scratches showing. Yes, I will final sand with 600.

The epoxy will not have a problem adhering to a 400 grit scratch pattern. Are you using guide coat at all? It sounds like you have a good plan. I would use a different color epoxy for that final coat (different than the Turbo).

The two shades of gray will have to work for this one..plus some guide coat if nessasary..on a side note..after sitting outside for a week, would it pay to wash with water before w+ g remover and final prep?

I would pressure wash it and scrub it with dawn. This time of the year, you will have pollen on everything.
