epoxy on wood---boat deck

i'm redoing the deck on my bass boat (carpeted). I read where epoxy resin? is the best to seal the wood ? Do you think if I just brush epoxy on the plywood deck then carpet the deck it will last ? I've used fiberglass resin before to waterproof the wood but recently read where that doesn't really bond to the wood. Any suggestions ?

dave the epoxy primer will work if you do a few coats to build it up but your probably better off with something like west system as that is 100% solids and will build thick and seal all the pores and grain. its meant to go on wood all day long. you can mix it then pour it on and spread it out with a spreader.
