Looking for opinions on electric DA sanders. Pros and cons. Obviously less strain on compressor....I'm interested to know what people think about using electric DA sanders.,

I use a cheap harbor freight all the time...great to put 80 grit on and bust thru the top layer of filler before blocking..take load off compressor.

They’re sloooooooow. I have a DeWalt 5 inch. Good for roughing up something or cutting through top crust of filler. No way would I ever strip with one. I mean I have but it gets you nowhere fast.

Certainly not for big jobs but good for small work.

i have always found electric to be clunky. you just dont have the precision feel or control that you have with air. if you were doing a large flat are then yeah ok. turn it on and let her rip but getting near body lines, edges or detail areas....no way.
