I have to patch the bottom corner of this door, and am looking for some advice. Here is my plan:
Make patch panel to fit door opening. (Round off that inside corner of door patch area to lessen shrinkage)
The bottom of patch will have the edge bent on the break to fit bottom of door.
Weld patch in place
Finish fold of patch over bottom to finished appearance
Heat up back (right) side of door patch, and then fold over door frame. Trim as needed to produce a uniform line on back.
Finally, one other question...The door had holes filled with braze, and then they were hammered down, and filled with filler. I can't get a hammer back behind, and am not sure how close I can go with a stud welder and the braze. I was thinking of drilling out the hole, grinding the rest of the braze away, and then welding the hole shut, pulling out dent, and finishing.
