DA pad for clear coat sanding

I really like the Meguiars microfiber pad with m105. I usually buff it first with the rotarty and wool pad with m100 followed by the meg pad with the m105. I finish up with a Chemical guys orange with the M205.

any of them that i have ever used will work fine. i dont like the 3m as much though simply because i dont feel they last as long. i think they fall apart rather quickly. i have never had a problem with norton ones. i have even gotten some cheap generic ones off ebay that were fine.

I highly urge you to try the M-100 compound by Meguiars. IMHO it beats the M-105 hands down plus it's not white and buffs clean.

I have the m100 I like it with the wool pad and rotary, but the m105 leaves better results with the microfiber pad and DA.

What about the actual backup plate on the DA sander? Any preferences? I see 3M has a purple one for painters use. Anyone tried one? My old Mirka pad has about had it and I'm in the market for a new one. I tried the eagle 971-0042 interface pad and it made it through 1 Tolex sheet and 2 Bufflex sheets wet, then the velcro started peeling off.

The 3M interface pads are no better. I had to use some dap landau to restick mine. The motorguard I have seems more heavy dusty.
