Buffing window will be.....?

A week.

Been testing against S&W 15 and the 3000 of PPG.
I seem to whip them in every category.
So I made a small batch and dipped out 2 gallons to send to a friend in FL that will demo in the dealers and try to find any flaws.
Being its a sealed batch i can then fine tune real easy if needed and pour off.

Best part is I stuck with the top grade resins and not go to lower quality too make it dry faster and also did not cut back on UV protection to save money. Best of all mine is flexible and the gloss with two coat just eats their lunch.

Best part, slam one wet coat on a fender and come right back and do a second, then move to next panel.

I'm in.

This is going to be interesting since for us the Euro is a bit slow even with fast hardener. Right now we sometimes use Universal on bumper jobs if they are leaving the next day.

Try/test it with less then perfectly dry air too.

No rain here so best I could do is 85% humidity, this is why Florida test is so important as it gets no worse then there.
Every test was in breezeway that has one open end.

I think a Mid-west test in ever changing conditions would be good too. BTW, when you ship it, I like gummy bears.

What reducer are you using with the Euro?

Depends on the temps and size of job, but we don't use 860 at all. On a 4 panel job at 70° we might use a 50/50 blend of 870 and 885. Straight 870 flashes pretty quick. Also we don't use a lot of polar, maybe 1%, since more than 2% can be iffy with loss of gloss issues.

I used to curse Euro for being slow. Since I started using 885 or 895 it's flashing a lot faster. Try that and see.

My jobber in fl did first test Friday after it arrived.
The one test I could not do and wanted to know was baking.
They painted two things at the dealership first a bumper and baked at 140 for 10 mins. It's was fully dry.
2nd job was about a 4 ft long panel and air dried. Worked great and speed of dry was right there the big name they use but gloss killed the big name.
More tests this weekend.
First testing of a new product always scares me as you just don't know if you are where you want to be but I'm excited now.

What was the dry time on the air dried panel?

Here is an exact 1/4 inch thick piece I let dry in painters pail and then sat on black truck 3 full days in the sun.
Notice how it flexible it is.
Altogether is about 3 weeks old.

All the others say use flex agents on bumpers, I don't think so.
One jobber told Andy to send a pallet
As he is in a low VOC area and loves it. Don't have labels yet as still testing but it will be perfect when I order labels

I wish I was that flexible.

i cant say i have put a 1/4 of clear on anything BUT i have had 20 coats of universal on pp motorcycle fairings where 2 years later the owner wipes out the bike and i was able to still bend the fairing in half with no cracking whatsoever.
