Cosmichrome

Looking to see if anyone has had any experience with the Cosmichrome system for applying chrome. Looks like a pretty good system, but curious about the durability and cost vs the traditional method,

the system i was looking at was futurechrome.com. those guys called me and i dug into the system a bit. seems pretty good since you only need the one special spray gun otherwise you can use all your own spray equipment and get into it for about $1800. i really just dont have a need for it so it would have been a waste for me to spend the money just to play around with it. if it was something i could sell i would have done it.

I know this was originally posted a while ago. Anyone have any experience with this system?

everything my little system did that looked good was on plastic. So you need a perfectly smooth, perfectly sprayed clear coat over the metal to start with . The chrome sticks to the clearcoat of the part.
Went thru the 500.00 system, never got one good part. The bezel around my speedometer for the chevelle is in really bad shape, so I will try that again, but you gotta be perfect with clear, and perfect with the top coat that goes over the chrome spray.
.
I ended up getting a really good chrome powder from Prismatic powders. Its just awesome, right up to the point you clear it and it becomes cloudy.

Ended up thinking I was getting more chemistry from Mexico and it was a formula to make the products, got the double headed spray gun and everything waiting for chemistry that never showed. We were trying to do bezels for cameras for a new casino, thought we got really close, but go to find out they were trying to sell the actual camera in the ceiling for like 45 grand. Each. So it probably did not matter if I did make the parts look good enough.

Its really hit or miss, but more likely, like painting, you either have it or you dont.
