coming off in sheets

Bet you won't use Pro-Spray again...... ;)
Have not had a single issue with the Pro Spray on my Mustang that was painted in 2014. That base was really recommended around here at the time. Chad was selling it and he won't sell shit.

They must have been bought out by somebody?

So now that you have removed all the defective paint, what's the next step? How are you going to prep the existing sealer or primer that was under the bc/cc, scuff with a gray scotchbrite pad?

Will you be spraying a sealer coat again before bb/cc?

I would have to block that well, maybe 400 wet? Clean the hell out of it? Damn Shine, you got to be nervous...

Thanks for the suggestion. I have no idea what grit sand paper he's going to use, he didn't, share.

Not accusing you of this shine, but I have seen base do this several times when it was applied outside the re-coat window of the sealer. Usually urethane sealer though.
In late on this.
We had the same issue with a 55 truck.
The owner/painter insisted it was OK to shoot the base on day 2 after the sealer.
He then shot a frightful amt of clear on it.
The following week, I saw the paint looking "loose". I stripped the entire cab with an air nozzle & razor blade. Some came off in sheets. The entire top came off in nearly 1 piece.
PPG base and clear.
Has been repainted/sanded/buffed & now, what looks like solvent pop, is showing its ugly head. Mostly where the clear is way too heavy.
