Brian has made a lot of progress on the Cobrastang. We were backordered a few parts but now I believe we have all the sheet metal. It's hard to believe but so far everything is lining up good. The jig is level and the body was level before he started lining up the quarter panels.

Next step was to fit the inner and outer wheelhouse. Once Brian had them lined up he added a few welds to hold them in place and removed the quarter panel.

The wheelhouses needed to be modified for clearance for the slicks.

That's a pretty slick way of doing it, no pun intended. How much growth did you get doing it that way, 1" or ?

Should be able to get a 11.5" wide slick in there. The rules back in 1970 said the tread had to be inside the wheel opening. I ran a 8" rim with an 11.5" slick but the bulge was outside the wheel opening.

I love it. I don't know of any other sport where bending the rules was not only a challenge but, a necessity to be #1.
