Anyone here ever sprayed spi clear over a liquid wrap before? I did one for a buddy. He wraped it i cleared it. With a clear from the wrap company... seemed like regualr clear. Was ugly as hell. But my part looked good. Anyway im used to spraying spi so id rather use it.. any thoughts?

Was like spraying over bass boat meatlocs but it slicked out after 3 coats

I sprayed clear over my wrap on aluminum boat. Looked great for awhile but as air got under it ( around rivets) it began to bubble . Lack of flexibility due to clear created problems- larger bubbles unable to squeegee out. Then peeling and such . If I had to do it over again- no clear on the hull. Top area where unaffected by water is fine

Mabey they put some kind of flex agent in there clear? Thats what im wondering. Job was kinda contracted out to me so i dont have any tiea back to it.. think he told um would only last 3 to 5 years anyway. Idk i got paid 200 to walk in clear it an walk out.

But hes got alot more to do. So i would rather spray a clear i know i can lay slick.

If clean use the universal and it will be fine but like Dave said, clear can't do anything for the bubbles over rivets but that don't apply too your job.

Yea he has them fairly clean when i get there. I heard it was a good idea to spray it with adhesion promoter first whats your thoughts on that? Last one came out good. Only prob is hes a new "sprayer" so between th

The roughness of his pearls and texture in the wrap i have to put a 3rd coat on to hide it all
