Clear over single stage

Ok..so I've finished all of the removable panels and buffed them and they look very good with little or no swirl marks. This is single stage black. On the body shell I had some fairly severe orange peel due to a compressor/gun setting issue. I sanded all of it out but in a few spots burned through. So, I touched them up with my touch up gun and then began color sanding, but half way though 1000 I got a couple more sand throughs. BWT, I made 3 heavy passes on the initial painting. So, now which direction should I go? Continue spotting it in and sand and buff, reshoot the entire top and quarters, shooting just the top with a parting line at the quarter panel crease, or spot in the sand throughs and shoot clear over it. If clear..should I use the production clear (I still have 1/2 a quart of 2100 hardener) which would give me almost 3/4 gal shootable product, or get a couple of quarts of universal clear and hardener. I'm getting tired, I'm old, been working on this paint for a year now, I'm so close! I have almost 3/4 gal of black left so I could reshoot the entire thing again with at least two coats.

Here are a couple pics of the problem areas

If you have your gun setting issues straightened out I vote for respraying. The orange peel in the pics looks pretty severe so respraying correctly will save you sanding most of your paint off.

It's so frustrating when you have 99% of a job done and then have to go back to square one. It's all sanded with 600 and ready to re-shoot. And I did figure out my gun/compressor settings. Right after spraying the first coat I made some adjustments (too late) and now its doing fine.

Frankie are you colorsanding with a block? Seeing those cut through areas there makes me wonder if they may have been just a high spots that showed themselves? Frustrating I know but you are perfecting it as you go. I'd shoot it again complete for sure, hit the spots with a coat then 2-3 over the entire tub. Post up a pic of that Cougar when she's done!

It was actually because I was getting too aggressive with the DA and 800, I usually hand sand everything with flat hard block or my home made dura blocks. This round turned out much nicer with just a couple small runs and a few dirt nibs. Im going to go ahead and assemble the body panels and cut and buff this later. I also shot my rim blow steering wheel which I had fixed a couple of major cracks with some epoxy, it turned out perfect, looks brand new.
