Cleaning the gun

Good evening. Just curious what others use to clean their guns. Currently i just use lacquer thinner in a stainless steel dog food bowl and a cheapie brush kit from ebay. I used to use a 1 gallon pail of carb cleaner. Soak the gun and parts and wash with soap and water after. Both methods seem to work. Is there a better alternative?

typically i just use wash grade lacquer thinner. i keep it in a squeeze bottle. i dont ever dip the gun in it. i can usually clean a gun with just a few ounces. once my gun get totally crusty, maybe once a month of daily spraying i will totally disassemble and soak it in the kleen strip gun stripper bucket. 5 gal bucket of paint stripper with a basket in it. esg-14.

huh, just looking into this because i need a new bucket of this stuff. it has been discontinued and replace with a non meth-chloride version. esg-20
