Cleaning after buffing

I ( amature) was told once to clean with wax and grease remover after buffing, but that didn't sound safe to me.

What's the true story?

I use a quality clean microfiber towel for after buffing, being careful to be gentle so you dont put scratches back into the finish. If there is residue that a clean microfiber wont get off I usually use Sprayway Glass Cleaner and then continue with the microfiber.

I use compounds and polishes with no fillers.

If you are using a compound with a lot of filler, the wax and grease remover will remove the filler showing what the paint actually looks like. I rarely do it anymore because I got away from those compounds, and only use a clean microfiber towel, as sprint 9 said, after compound.

story? I need a thread on what to use to buff with. I,very never given much thought to what I use.

jc is right . the majority of compounds have fillers which give you a false reading on where your at . send a car out and first time they wash it your in for an ass chewing . i switched to CG many years ago because all the other compounds were car lot friendly .
if a compound drys white and makes a mess it is full of fillers .

I had never thought about connecting the white mess with the fillers in a product, but it makes sense. Clean up with the Chemical Guy's is the esiest if anything I think I have used.
