This car does not want to get finished. After wetsanding and trying to get polyurethane wave out of the clear for a couple of weeks I thought I was catching up. I started to clean the car and hit the cowl panel. I didn't have it screwed down so of course it slid over and chipped the top edge of the fender. It went down to the epoxy. I have been filling it in with red base and I started to sand the nose for recoat with 800. This is a corvette so the whole nose has to be done, not just a fender. I am going to touch it up with red and then the clear. Maybe I will get lucky and it will look good. Any ideas on touching it up, blending with an airbrush?
Anyway if I decide to recoat the whole nose then sanding with 800 is the right grit. Or should I use another grit. I will also go over the nose with a red scotch brit to get the spots I have missed.
