C-Aire compressor

I need to upgrade my compressor and have been reading a lot of reviews and info on various brands. The C-Aire looks good on paper, low pump speed, quiet, and a two yr warranty.
Curious if anyone here has any experience with them.
I am looking for a 5hp, two stage, 80 gallon compressor for a small hobby shop.
Thanks

just stay away from IR . your looking for the right setup. 870 rpm will last forever. i'm rebuilding my champion that i replaced with an IR .

Looking at their offerings, you should be fine with the A050V080-1230 or better. Anything lower is not meant for the kind of continuous usage that body and paint requires.

That's the one I've been looking at.

I thought it was a two yr warranty on C-Aire, but it's only one...
I don't know, I've looked at so many my heads cloudy.

I think if you get an automatic drain, their mounting kit, and synthetic compressor oil they bump up their warranty. At least they did when I bought mine, not sure about now.

Are C-Aire imports or domestically produced?

I looked at buying one of these a few years back. Around that time frame I think they were bought out, sold or changed manufactures, I dont remember which. The guys at the store that sold them said that after that change had occurred the quality looked like it went down.

Thats been ahile ago now, like 5 or so years, I would hope they got things sorted out since then. Due to all that back then I ended up with a Quincy.

Safest to assume everything reasonably priced is from China. I'm no longer interested in buying new. Old rebuilt American pumps like the Quincy QR-325 or Saylor Beall 707 are all I'm interested in now.

Pretty sure even Quincys are made in China, their QT series for sure.

Right from their website "Made in the USA, all QT models are equipped with long-lasting components"

Not that it really means anything, alot of times there are ways around saying that and actually doing it. I wouldnt be surprised if its more like assembled in the USA with global components. The old genuine USA stuff is way better then anything new.

QT's are yugos compared to the QR's. I'd do a Saylor Beall before a QT with reed valve heads. The undisputed best is a QR Quincy with Saylor Beall in second. I had great results from an Old Kellogg American also. I see someone revised that name and copied the original pump with import stuff.

Buying QR's used is the only way to afford them though. I don't have any experience with c-aire.

i bought my champion rebuilt in 82 . rebuilt again 20 years later when we moved to the farm . i replaced it with an IR last year . in the process of rebuilding it again so i can get rid of the IR . find a good rebuilder and buy used.
