I do repair a fair share of bumper cover repairs small nicks and holes and maybe a small tear. Having some problems with SEM'S Multi Plastic Material in the last few months . Use to use Problem Plastic made also by SEM What are you guys using ? Thanks Tom

I use welding ribbon from Polyvance PXL_20221020_192953227.jpgPXL_20221021_200103133.jpg

@El Toro , we use SEM 39767. I don't know what we'd do otherwise, it's the only bumper repair material with a long track record of success at our shop. My jobber says some shops are just using 3M 8115 for bumper repair, I think that is insane, it's door skin glue only for us.

@AAE , how long does a repair like that take? That would be a replacement at my shop, no questions asked. I haven't invested in plastic welding because typically bumpers "total out" with the amount of labor I'd need to charge to make them profitable to do.

This was a totally stupid one. I regret every minute of it. But, this is one of the worst I've done. I do a lot of corner tears that are fast and good money.

I did it to prove to my wife that's she's wrong about my inability to make good decisions. She was right

I’ve also had a long history with SEM problem plastic repair. Usually fix from backside with mesh tape then v grove the front cracks and do them with just the SEM. Have also melted some cracks/tabs, etc back together with a large soldering iron before. And use strips off a old cover for filler material if needed. Usually on my own stuff. Always seemed ok.

Problem Plastic is an awesome product. Dries fast and sands really well.

I am a long time user of SEM products I think this must be a bad batch. Had the same results on some other scrap covers. The cover in question is a 2019 Honda CR-V
