Black base

I would say in 2-3 weeks it will be ready, made a batch of the Matt clear today and sent a quart to a shop in LA that do Matt jobs all day long over every color you can think of for their approval. Every job this shop does is Matt, period, so once I get their approval all we need to do is package it and it is done.
The White and black base may be ready faster then the SS as I'm having labels made for the SS as we speak.

YESSSSSSS. I just bought a quart of sikkens mat clear and got my feelings hurt again. I would say 75% of the time, the mat clear is perfect for a lot of apps. I'm sure with yours it might be the same, but I can control the sheen a little bit with reducer and how it is sprayed.

Feelings hurt or checkbook hurt? LOL

My options for adjustment will be for more shine add clear and to kill the last 3-5% of gloss add flattener.
Figuring this flatness stuff out is the hardest thing I have ever done.

Maybe that explains why i've had such a hard time with it!
One time it looks perfect, the next time, not so much.

Barry,
Have to ask. How is the pricing coming for these new items?

Gallon of clear I would guess 125 or so, won't charge for my 100's of hours screwing around, LOL.
Really have not set any prices yet, should not be more than a $1000 for any given gallon.

Heck that isnt to bad of a price for you to custom mix all those colors people are going to want, you might even make a dollar or two doing it ,ROFLOL.

Barry, what clears will the new matt clear be compatible with? (ie; can be mixed with Euro, Universal, etc.) Second, how will it mix? (4:1, 4:1:1, 1:1)

You can activate the flattened clear buy it self and then activate any of our other clears, then mix together.

"Thoughts that crossed my mind as an example, A dark red to go with the SPI Red like say guards red or Ferrari Red.

Make the old SPI Orange into Hugger, so people know what color it is.

One nice blue, like daytona blue used on the older vette.

Viper or screaming yellow,

VW silver"

I hate to be a yes man but I think you're right on in your thinking! This lineup would give you the capability of opening up a pretty big market segment. Hope it comes to fruition. Also hope the single stage prices can be kept in the neighborhood of the old single stages!

I've got two cars going to black so I am really looking forward to this.

Viper or screaming yellow but the yellows were not a real good selling color for us, when we had three.

I always preferred Chrome Yellow (Code. DZ ... I think ??) because it did not "wash out" under street lights like the other yellows. It looked good, day or night.

Bob,

Your PM box is full.

I will a drop check off in mail box on the way to work on Tuesday morning if that is alright with you.

Thanks again for shipping the Black SS it out to me. I will be hopefully be using some of it soon

No problem, glad I had some for ya. Looking forward to ordering some of the new BC and SS!

I am very pleased you’re going back to producing your black base. My whole truck is SPI , primer 2 clear with harlaquin graphics. I have just used up the last of my SPI black on my latest hood mod. Took a hail damaged purple hood and cut in a ZR1 window. I have a spare cargo cover that’s my next mod. if your black becomes available.

knuckle, please tell me more about the "chrome yellow" you are referring to. Was this a GM or Ford code (DZ). I'm about to redo something in yellow & looking for a good bright one. The current corvette "velocity yellow" is a bit dark for what I have in mind. Thanks for any input.

Have only seen it on a color chip on internet-I'll check it out in chip book in paint store. Thanks

well its been awhile since i have been on here. great to see the black is coming back. looks like barry is working hard to make sure its not grey like the the old stuff. speaking of matte clear, has anyone heard of this ppg matte clear that you can sand and buff and it stays flat and even? apparently its extremely expensive.
