Best Bedliner

I'm thinking of spraying a bed liner on the underside/floor pans of car. The car has floor patches completely welded, sandblasted and coated in SPI black epoxy. I'm thinking of spraying bed liner, but concerned it may reduce the value of the car? It's a 71 Buick GS convertible. It's still on the rotisserie, and this would be the ideal time to spray a bed liner. Alternatively, I could leave it in SPI epoxy. Best bed liner if I go this direction?

I use this one. It leaves a shiny finish which is easier to keep clean imho. Bedliner is preferred by a lot of pro touring folks and doesn’t decrease value imho.

I used tintable Raptor Liner, using SPI medium red base to tint. I sprayed it with a regular gun, not the bed liner one, to give me a smoother texture. I was really happy with how it turned out.

Nice work guys! I'll call my local jobber and see what they carry. I think it will create a durable, and uniform coating for the underside of car.

Raptor is the truth! Affordable tintable. And completely oil resistant. Order on amazon to save money. What ive done a few times is sand blast the under side. 2 coats spi epoxy. Then tinted raptor...that foundation will out live both of us combined.. .i plan to do another trunk tomorrow evening.

I sprayed my truck bed with Raptor a little over a year ago. We know how much new trucks cost, so I did some research before choosing Raptor. I'm very happy with it. Aside from sliding something heavy with a sharp edge across the bed, nothing really hurts it.

I am curious how much cmfisher had do thin it to spray out of an HVLP gun. The pics look excellent!

Strum,
There are a couple of different spec sheets out there from Raptor and one in particular shows the mixing quantities (by weight and volume) for shooting with an HVLP gun. I took a cheap-o HF Purple gun and drilled out the tip to 2mm (about) on a drill press and used that. Worked great. Here's a link to another forum post I did here and in that post there are links to the spec sheets. http://www.spiuserforum.com/index.php?threads/thinning-u-pol-raptor.6231/post-66465

Cheers,
Chris

Couple of questions with the raptor. Can you use a decent gun to get a smoother than normal finish? Tip size and pressure? Is this stuff pretty bullet proof over SPI epoxy? Can you do a snow white with it? Or better to go epoxy>raptor>epoxy>spi single stage to get a match that will last if trying to match a white SPI Single Stage?

Hey Hugh. Read my #9 post above for a link and stuff to how I did it with an HVLP gun and tintable liner. I haven't gotten the car on the road yet so I can speak to its durability yet.

Thanks CM, watched the Youtube video, big help. I am going to be painting a work truck over time, and am thinking about painting everything in black bedliner from the rockers on down from the can to the utility body in a level line, but in a lesser texture than the bed work, I think your texture nails that. White bedliner in areas that get some abuse, but want to keep same color as cab and body. Truck is something like this (*not my truck*) The body that sticks beyond the cab gets sandblasted from the road as you can imagine.
