best adhesion

I'm assuming this is SPI black. What catalyst are you using? (...and, as usual, I'll let the production pros take over.)

I was talking to a buddy who used to paint and hes suggesting I hit everything with 600 and shoot again with proper adjusted gun.

I also started cutting to see what it looks like , I dont have any compound to buff yet.

I'm lost, did you get the epoxy thing straightened out? Put more on and sand?
sorry, maybe I didnt post the order

the doors and jams were previously epoxy coated after I blasted everything down to metal. Prepped with 80, wax and grease remover, 1:1 epoxy.
then last week...
1. I scuffed all panels , wiped down with wax and grease remover. temp 70 degree, low humidity
2. wiped down with wax and grease remover, laid down 1:1 epoxy coat, let sit for 2 hours. (epoxy gun)
3. sprayed coat of SS black, waited 30 minutes and hit with second coat. (paint gun )

It looks to me like you might need more practice spraying and/or figure out what's wrong with the gun setup before moving to the exterior. It's also really difficult to believe, based on the photos, that you are actually getting 30 PSI to your gun. Gauges can be really far off, it would be a good idea to try a different gauge. Ones that only go up to 60 PSI have a better chance of being accurate, but must only be used downstream of a good regulator.

Slow activator in the SS should lay out really well.

I have gauge on gun and gauge on regulator, so almost positive on air pressure to the gun, but Im pretty sure the air adjustment on spray wasnt set correctly.

I did some wet sanding and cut/buff, turned out ok. I was really resisting having to sand and shoot jams again.

I didnt want to buy a whole bunch of supplies right now, so I found this kit at parts store and bought mcquires 1-2-3 compound , says to use a drill but I used my die grinder , and turned pressure way down.

Its still noticeable, but better, it doesnt look bad for something you dont see very often. I havent hit it with the third grit compound yet, Im expecting it to shine up a bit.
