Does anyone use a laser level or anything of that nature to help tape out stripes or anything?? If so what kind? I am getting ready to tape out some boss stripes and it seemed like a heck of an idea if at all plausible as opposed to just stick and unstick till its right.

I know that for a a straight line it needs to be kink and wrinkle free but the center stripe in the hood is somewhere around 14-1/2 at the front and 16-1/2 at the back. Its not adjacent to any body lines. Was going to put a mark at the front and back of the hood with a pencil Jim c turned me on to but wasn't sure how to get it straight over the curve of the hood from point a to point b.

Take the measurement for the length of the hood and divide it in half so you can find the center of the hood front to back, place a light pencil mark on both sides at this measurement. Then pull a piece of tape straight across the hood. Now measure the width and divide in half to find the center of the hood side to side, again make a light mark on each side then pull a straight tape line front to back. You should now have a "+" on the hood showing center front to back and right to left. (besure you mark which side of the tape is on the light pencil marks or your stripes will be off center by the width of the tape, don't ask me how I found out). Now you can measure 7 1/4" from center at the front on each side and 8 1/4" at the back on each side of center. Since you have a piece of tape showing the center of the hood front to back, that measurement should be 7 3/4" from center on each side. Now you have three marks to pull your tape to so you can get everything straight.

70 boss 302 stripes. 1 fat tapered stripe in the center that terminates 1/4 inch from the rear of the hood. 1 stripe on either side of it 4 inches wide that runs the length of the hood adjacent the center stripe the breaks along the rear of the hood and goes down the fenders and then back down the doors.

Btw the car is a 69 stang (I just like the 70 stripes better) they aren't meant to be factory correct or anything I just like the way they look
