a question of clears...

I have my spi epoxy and the next thing I need , I believe, is clear and my activator. In reading thru the site I believe that I see three different options, the universal, production , and euro clears. What is the difference between them?? Also I am working on a 69 mustang and this is my first go round with paint so how much mixed clear would it take me to get the whole car done with the appropriate (2-3?) Coats?? Any help would be swell.

Thanks

For any restoration you want the Universal and another benefit, it is made not to require high air flow, so it gives a cleaner job in garages or shops with older paint booths.

Thanks Barry any round about idea of what kind of quantity would get me close. Getting down to the brass tacks on this thing and trying to figure a close budget? Also on the price sheet I noticed that there are only quarts of activator for uni clear is there any price break if there are gallons available? Also had heard that you can never use too slow a reducer in your paint, if so is the clear activator the same?? Thanks for all the help.

My guess would be if just doing outside of car a 2 quart kit would be plenty (1gal mixed)

We only make the activators in quarts, so they don't go bad.

Normal or slow activator, depending on temp at the time, I like slow but if its 60 degrees, we need to adjust.

Excellent thanks for the help Barry. I am planning on laying down epoxy in the next couple of weeks and blocking. Hopefully laying down paint by early to mid October. Will make sure I get the right stuff when I call to order. Thanks again for all the help. Glad I chose spi I'd be flipping lost without all the help.

I heard that there could soon be a chart showing the SPI clears and activators and reducers that will help us "part timers" easily understand the systems :)

If only.. I have done all of my.own suspension fabrication, welded in all of my body panels and repaired, along with converting a 40 year old car to fuel injection and o.d. trans and the final primer thru paint bit has me completely dumbfounded, amazing how much goes into the shiny I definitely understand why some paint shops ask what they do...
