A Big Thank You.

Switching to SPI products was the best thing I ever did!

Now if they would just make the damn basecoats!!

I think I saw a post where Barry addressed the basecoat issue. Seems like he said there was a problem because he couldn't have every color under the rainbow. If it means getting so big that Barry can't control everything, then I say we are good now. I have only used the epoxy so far, but after reading this forum for awhile I'm sure the others are just as good as the epoxy, and I sure wouldn't want to risk quality over quantity.

We should all chip in to get Cooter and Buba bus tickets and a couple 30 packs.

Oddly enough, I remember hearing that part of the reason SPI base was discontinued was that newbie users had the most problems with basecoats. It was a tech support nightmare that got to be too much to handle.

I can understand that. Barry is such a nice guy it was hard for him to take a hard line and say this is what it is, those are the colors. Kirker and others have that market covered, I wonder how much pissing and such they receive on a daily basis.

I just did a panel repair on a 2004 Tahoe. Olympic white, there were 4 shades of the color at the PPG line. NONE of them matched, Tom had to do an adjustment to a Jag white to get a match for me (Prophet match, then adjusted). I can fully understand the not wanting to get involved in that whole mess.

Most of us say we would be content with just the Red and the Black basecoats but somehow I think Barry sees beyond that. We have the Red available and I am thankful for that. Maybe we will be blessed with the Black someday but how long before guys started pressing for another superior quality base in a different color?

Yes thanks to them for some great products, service and technical support.

I order some bed liner on Monday and Andy told me I will receive it on Wednesday. Guess what was waiting on my front porch when I got home from work yesterday. Yes my order. Now only if this darn weather would get as good as their service ;)

I just need 2 gallons of black!

I look forward to visiting the SPI forum every day. Thank you to Barry, the SPI team and the administrators for providing it. And thank you to all the contributors. This site has provided really helpful answers to all my questions and answers to questions I didn't know I had. My problem is that I'm spending more time here than in the garage actually working on the car. My wife has suggested it has more to do with short attent... SQUIRREL!!!

I'd like to say thank you as well. As beginners we've learned so much on here, it has been a tremendous asset. Although at time it's made me a little paranoid, the information on this forum has helped us out during our project countless times. The fact that we can get on here and see the best of the best share their talents, offer their advice, give opinions, learn their secrets; is simply priceless. A big thank you to all who make this possible!

And a BIG thank you to Barry for always answering my emergency 911 phone calls during odd hours :) How many CEO's of a company will take phone calls on their cell, especially at all hours? Not many! Thanks so much.

Lauren
