76 K5 Blazer

I used this with an 80 grit drum because I had to remove the anodizing too. First time that tool was actually useful. :). Long continuous end to end strokes with no stopping.

I think I'd have to make some kind of jig, I'm way too shaky to make the tool go perfectly straight! I tried pinstriping once but it looked like a seismograph.

Making brackets and mocking up the TMI seats and console. The owner wants the factory tilt on the passenger seat functional so the back seat can be accessed. Console will need some brackets too. It’s intended for a pickup so the back is open raw fiberglass. I will have to break out my backyard hack arts and crafts kit and make a closeout panel for it. :)

A lot of hours and a fair bit of head scratchin to assemble and install the tailgate. The aluminum panel is not reproduced so I did a backyard hack brush job on it and cleared it. The spare tire carrier put a couple of deep gouges in it that I couldn’t completely remove but they are a lot better.

Ignore the crooked tailpipe, exhaust system is not clamped together.

Tail pipes are crooked. ?

Making progress. Wiring is done. Holley HP EFI started and idled on first crank. I modified the stock gas tank to use a 6th Gen Camaro fuel pump module with a Vaporworx PWM fuel pump controller. Nothing beats OEM fuel pump reliability. DC Controls PWM fan controller. Dakota Digital VHX gauges and cruise control.

Interior installation and bedside moldings left to do.

Those are some nice electronic upgrades. Are the side moldings new, or refurbished?

It's looking outstanding.

Nice work don, I noticed your foam insulation is 2 different colors. Is that open and closed cell?
Both are closed cell. Yellow sprayed seven years ago, white last summer. The guy I hired to spray it seven years ago ripped me off and it was very thin, an eight inch in spots on the roof. I didn’t notice until I air conditioned the shop. When the sun hit the roof it wouldn’t cool. So I hired a guy last summer to do it again.

I got a quote yesterday to do my 30x50x12 at 4500$. He recommended 3-4 inch of open cell for the roof and 1 inch closed on the walls, and 2 inch closed on the west wall. Says he been doing it 30yrs and recommended open cell on roof because he can go much thicker at a cheaper cost......debating.
